ARDS UNDER 14's

A top two finish saw the the under 14's claim 2nd prize in the Belfast league which meant a place in the Ulster finals. All the Ards under 14 player’s had contributed throughout the year in playing for the 8 a side team so all the girls were asked to play and Ards effectively rotated two squads with 19 players available to take part in this finals day.

The well run tournament at Lisnagarvey had 3 initial group matches on half a pitch. Play ran from end to end and in every match Ards had the opportunity to score but had also to call on the goalies and defence to stop the opposition scoring. It was a fine line between a win and a lose with 1 or 2 goals separating the teams in each match. Ards had 2 losses and a draw which meant playing in the Plate play off where there would be another 3 matches on three-quarters of a pitch.

The Ards squad took advantage of the larger playing field and enjoyed a more fluent style of play. All the hard work throughout the season and during the tournament saw the last game give Ards a win which was a great way to end the tournament and the season.

Thank you to all the parents who came to support and have supported throughout the season, Phillip and Julie would like to thank the girls for all their hard work as they have been a talented and fun squad to work with.
